EVENT STORY

Three current Shakopee High School seniors and Shakopee Bowl employees, Trystan Theis, Dustin Joyner, and Brady Schroeder, have planned and organized an upcoming fundraiser for Parkinson’s at Shakopee Bowl on November 28th. They are doing this for a school DECA project on community giving and have chosen to raise money for Parkinson’s because of the life-changing impacts the disease has on people. Help fund further research into finding a cure by participating in the fundraiser on November 28th.

About Parkinson’s

Parkinson’s is a neurodegenerative
disorder that affects neurons in the part of
the brain called the substantia nigra. This
causes people inflicted with the disease to
tremor, become rigid, and develop balance
problems. Currently, one million
Americans are affected by the disease,
with a projected 1.2 million being affected
in 2030.

Proceeds will go towards:

• Providing educational materials about
Parkinson’s
• Providing life-saving care kits
• Providing exercise classes for people
diagnosed with Parkinson’s
• Fund the Parkinson’s free Helpline
• Provide grants and funding to researchers.
